The group of Roland Faller in the department of Chemical Engineering and Materials Science at UC Davis is looking for a postdoctoral researcher for a new project in the field of Cyberdesign of Nanoparticles. A PhD in a science or engineering field with demonstrated computational experience is required. The ideal candidate has a background in distributed computing and/or molecular modeling of biomolecular systems. The position is part of a NSF funded Cyber‐enabled Discovery Initiative project with the research focus connecting different length scales for biomembrane nanoparticle interactions. The candidate will be largely responsible for i) modeling biomimetic systems and their interactions with surfaces on different length scales using molecular simulations and ii) developing and maintaining a computational software infrastructure connecting and automating the use of various simulation packages both locally and in connection with our various partner sites. Thus, strong communication skills and demonstrated experience in programming (C/C++/Shells scripts/Web programming) are necessary.
Interested candidates should send their application with resume, list of publications and names and email addresses of three references to Prof. Roland Faller (rfaller@ucdavis.edu). All complete applications will be considered immediately and the position will be filled as soon as possible. The
appointment will be initially for one year with an opportunity for renewal.
